Meaco is unusual among dehumidifier brands in publishing extraction at several temperature and humidity points, not only the warm headline. For the Arete One 10 L the headline is 10.42 litres per day at 30 °C and 80 % relative humidity. That is the laboratory maximum on the carton. At 20 °C and 60 % RH — a closer picture of a heated British living room — the same table reads 4.34 litres. At 10 °C and 60 % RH it reads 1.41 litres. Those cooler rows are why the box litre is not a promise for a Victorian terrace in January.
What you are buying at this size is a compressor Meaco rates for a small home. The tank holds 2.5 litres. Night mode and laundry mode are on the control set, with a humidistat between 40 % and 70 % RH. An H13 HEPA filter is in the carton. Noise is given as 35 and 38 dB(A). Power at 20 °C / 60 % RH is 151 W. The operating window is 5–35 °C, so an unheated utility or a garage is the wrong room. Continuous drainage takes a 12.5 mm garden hose that is not in the box.
Arete One is the simpler sibling of Arete Two. You do not get the app, the DC motor’s third fan speed, the louvre or the timer. For a small heated flat those extras are optional. The five-year warranty is not. Meaco also notes that the tank does not have a handle, which is a daily nuisance if you empty it at the sink rather than plumbing a hose.
Room-size marketing on UK listings often quotes around 42 m² for this 10 L. Meaco’s own European sheets have used a tighter 25 m² / 65 m³ figure. Treat both as guidance, not a surveyor’s measurement, and size by the moisture load: a single occupant with a bathroom and no indoor laundry is the 10 L’s natural home. Add a clothes airer most evenings and the 12 L becomes the more honest class.

Where it fits
- A heated one-bed or large bedroom where condensation on glass is the daily problem.
- Someone who wants published night-mode noise in the mid-30s dB(A) and a long warranty.
Where it struggles
- The space is a garage, porch or unheated box room — compressor take collapses below about 10 °C.
- You regularly dry a full family wash indoors; look at the 12 L and 20 L class.
