Meaco is unusual among dehumidifier brands because it publishes extraction at several temperature and humidity points, not only the warm headline. For the Arete One 10 L the headline is 10.42 litres per day at 30 °C and 80 % relative humidity. That’s the laboratory maximum on the carton. At 20 °C and 60 % RH, closer to a heated British living room, the same table reads 4.34 litres. At 10 °C and 60 % RH it reads 1.41 litres. Those cooler rows are why the box litre isn’t a promise for your terrace in January.
At this size you’re buying a compressor Meaco rates for a small home. The tank holds 2.5 litres. Night mode and laundry mode are on the controls, with a humidistat between 40 % and 70 % RH. An H13 HEPA filter is in the carton. Noise is given as 35 and 38 dB(A). Power at 20 °C / 60 % RH is 151 W. Treat both as guidance, not a surveyor’s measurement, and size it by your moisture load. If you’re one person with a bathroom and no indoor laundry, the 10 L is the natural home. Add a clothes airer most evenings and the 12 L becomes the more honest class.

Extraction figures and room sizes are what the maker claims, and they’re often measured at a warm, humid lab point. Your rooms in the UK are usually cooler, so that’s a lower real take. We haven’t run our own lab tests.

Where it struggles
- The space is a garage, porch or unheated box room. Compressor take collapses below about 10 °C.
- You regularly dry a full family wash indoors. We’d look at the 12 L and 20 L class.

Yes, it has a laundry mode, but it’s a small-flat machine. Meaco’s table shows 4.34 L/day at 20 °C / 60 % RH, so for regular loads on the airer we’d step up to the 12 L or 20 L.
Is it quiet enough for a bedroom at night?
Meaco publishes 35 and 38 dB(A), and there’s a night mode, so it’s one of the quieter machines here for your bedroom.
Will it work in a cold room?
Not well. It’s a compressor rated for 5–35 °C, and like any compressor it pulls far less water as the room cools. For an unheated room we’d look at a desiccant such as the EcoAir DD1.
