Arete Two keeps the 12 L compressor class and adds a DC motor, a third fan speed, an LCD ‘Chase’ display, a timer and the Meaco app. Extraction at everyday indoor conditions stays in the same band as Arete One; you are paying for control and airflow, not a new litre class.

Arete Two 12 L is easy to misread as a more powerful dehumidifier. Meaco still rates it in the 12 litre class. The compressor, tank and HEPA filter match Arete One 12 L. Refrigerant charge is R290 / 45 g on both, and the operating window is still 5–35 °C. The published take at 20 °C / 60 % RH is 5.4 litres on Two. On One it is 5.23 litres at the same point — a rounding-error difference next to the gap between a 12 L and a 20 L machine.
The real changes are the fan and the controls. Two uses a DC motor with three speeds: 80, 100 and 140 m³/h. One has two speeds at 80 and 100 m³/h. Meaco says that extra airflow is the laundry improvement. It also publishes a third noise figure, 44 dB(A), for that high speed. The quieter settings remain 35 and 38 dB(A). There is a manual louvre, a 1–24 hour timer and a laundry timer. The LCD adds a ‘WET’ indicator and a target-humidity heart.
App control (Meaco app, Alexa and Google) is the other reason Two exists. You can see humidity and change mode without walking to the machine. That is convenient in a house where the dehumidifier lives in a spare room. It is unused value if the unit sits next to the sofa and you only ever press night mode.
Power at 20 °C / 60 % RH is 136 W on Two versus 151 W on One, which Meaco translates to the same few-pence-per-hour running-cost story. Warranty is five years on both. If the question is ‘which 12 L Arete’, answer it by whether you will use the timer, the app and the third fan speed. If the question is ‘which 12 L at all’, the money comparison is still One versus the OmniDry.

A good match if

Skip it if
- You will never open the app — Arete One 12 L is the simpler spend.
- You need cold-room performance; this is still a 5 °C compressor.
