We’d only pick the Arete One 25L for a large heated house where the 20L class isn’t enough. It’s the same tall Arete shell and 4.8 L tank as the 20L, with a bigger published take and a little more noise. If your space is cold or unheated, a desiccant is still the better job fit.

The Arete One 25L uses the tall shell. Dimensions are 618 × 366 × 272 mm. Weight is 16 kg. The tank holds 4.8 litres. Refrigerant charge is R290 / 90 g. The headline is 25 litres per day at 30 °C / 80 % RH. Meaco’s own cooler rows are the ones we’d shop with. At 20 °C / 80 % RH the table is 17.53 litres, still a strong take in a warm, wet house. At 20 °C / 60 % RH it’s 10.73 litres, closer to everyday indoor humidity. At 10 °C / 60 % RH it falls to 3.54 litres. At 10 °C / 50 % RH it’s 2.15 litres. Even the biggest compressor here is a modest collector in a 10 °C room.
Noise is 40 and 42 dB(A). Power at 20 °C / 60 % RH is 267 W, about 7p per hour at 26.32p/kWh (Ofgem cap 1 Oct–31 Dec 2026). Airflow is 150 m³/h on low and 175 m³/h on high. Night mode and laundry mode match the 20 L, with a 40–70 % humidistat. You get HEPA, auto-restart, a child lock and castors. The tank doesn’t grow from the 20 L to the 25 L. Both are 4.8 litres. A higher extraction class with the same bucket means more trips to the sink unless you fit a hose. That’s a practical reason the 25 L is a whole-home machine, possibly plumbed, rather than a bedroom companion.
We’d choose this if your house is large, heated, and a 20 L still leaves you emptying often or watching the humidity climb. Don’t choose it as a magic number that will dry an unheated cellar. For that, the EcoAir desiccants remain the spec-sheet match. For most homes, the Arete One 12 L or 20 L is where the shopping ends, and the 25 L is the last rung.
Published specification
Extraction figures and room sizes are what the maker claims, and they’re often measured at a warm, humid lab point. Your rooms in the UK are usually cooler, so that’s a lower real take. We haven’t run our own lab tests.
